Fixings - Clinch

The preservative acids naturally present in Western Red Cedar preclude the use of standard galvanised fixings (unless punched below surface, filled, primed and painted over).

For years the options were limited, with Silicon Bronze Flat and Rose Head and Stainless Steel Rose Head the most popular. Based on experience and customer feedback, Herman Pacific recently introduced the Hermpac Crown. This faceted-head profile combines good looks with practicality. The flush-based, flat-top crown improves hammer contact, while the flat base allows the nail to be set flush onto, and not into, the timber surface. Aside from looking a lot smarter, ‘Flush onto’ finishing does not damage the surrounding surface wood fibre, and gives superior board appearance and durability.

More recently, we began to explore the creative potential for screw fixings and screw fixings in combination with other components. Numerous standard head and drive slot styles can be used in their own right, in tandem with washer ‘skirts’ or developed further into new, ground-breaking styles. The simple range of standard screw fixings are listed in the accompanying tables.
